clay/straw basecoat and white clay/hemp top coat onto earth blocks

The earth block structural walls were constructed by the main contractor.
The basecoat was a simple clay, sharp sand and straw combo. The clay came from just over the hill from the site.
To the earth blocks I first applied a clay slip and whilst it was still tacky I applied the first pass of the basecoat. When this had stiffened up I applied the second pass of the basecoat and ruled it flat.
I made the top coat with white clay from one of my other building sites and mixed it with fine hemp and cattail fluff as the fibre.
